Russian swordfighter Yana Yegoryan becomes Olympic champion

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia’s representative Yana Yegoryan scored the champion title in fencing at the Olympic Games in Rio. In the sword fight, 22-year-old Yegoryan won her Russian opponent Sofya Velikaya, Hayernaysor reports.

Yana Yegoryan, who was born in 1993 in Yerevan and moved to Russia with her family at the age of 6, became a world champion in 2015 and is a four-time European champion, but she scored those titles in team competitions.
