Mourinho told to play Mkhitaryan in No.10 role for Manchester United

PanARMENIAN.Net - Jose Mourinho should consider deploying Manchester United outcast Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the No.10 role, according to Craig Burley, The Daily Star reports.

The Armenian midfielder has failed to impress Mourinho at Old Trafford and has not started for his club since aggravating a thigh injury in the defeat to Manchester City in September.

Mkhitaryan, who is fully fit after playing the whole of his country's dramatic World Cup qualifying win over Montenegro last week, has made just four Premier League appearances.

Former Chelsea midfielder Burley believes Mourinho should consider utilising him differently.

He says Mkhitaryan, 27, could replace Juan Mata in the No.10 role and provide an excellent creative outlet for the Red Devils.

He told ESPN: "I would argue that Mkhitaryan, given a chance and longevity, could probably do a good job in that [No.10] role, but that, for some strange reason, doesn’t seem as if it is even going to get off the starters blocks."

Though Mkhitaryan looks a frustrated figure, he says he will not give up his quest to impress his new boss.

He said: "I know I can succeed at Manchester United, and I want to show everyone that I deserve to be a key player in this team and this league.
