BSEC PA session to open in Tbilisi in December

PanARMENIAN.Net - The 30th plenary session of the Parliamentary assembly of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation scheduled for November 19-20 in Tbilisi was postponed to December 10-12.



BSEC PA President, Georgian Parliament Speaker Nino Burjanadze and BSEC PA Chairman-in-Office, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk will make opening remarks.



Greece will take over chairmanship from Georgia.



The session was postponed to December due to Georgian developments and imposition of emergency rule.



BSEC PA was formed in June 1993 with a purpose to provide parliamentary assistance to multilateral economic cooperation between the countries of the Black Sea basin and consolidation of political stability in the region. Chairmanship is rotated twice a year. The BSEC PA International Secretariat is located in Istanbul. The organization unites Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.
