Henrikh Mkhitaryan says playing in World Cup is his goal

PanARMENIAN.Net - Midfielder for the Armenian national team and English football club Manchester United Henrikh Mkhitaryan said his goal is to play in the FIFA World Cup.

In an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Mkhitaryan was asked about the expectations of the Armenian team, which is four points behind the second spot in Group E of the qualifying tournament.

“After the first two matches, many criticized us like we had already failed the cycle. But in football, everything is possible. We will continue to fight. Playing in the World Cup is my and our common goal,” Mkhitaryan said.

“As a child, I had a dream: to win the UEFA Cup or the Champions League. I achieved one of these goals. In general, every next season should be better than the previous one.”

After winning the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League, Manchester United became the fifth club in history to have won the "European Treble" of European Cup/UEFA Champions League, European Cup Winners' Cup/UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, and UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League after Juventus, Ajax, Bayern Munich and Chelsea
