Spertsyan holds first Al Ahli training

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia national team captain Eduard Spertsyan has joined Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli, which is currently holding its pre-season training camp in Austria.

The club's press service announced that the 26-year-old midfielder has already completed his first training session with the team that finished third in the most recent Saudi Pro League season, Factor.am reported.

Spertsyan joined Al Ahli from Russian club Krasnodar. According to unofficial reports, the Saudi club paid between €20 million and €25 million for the transfer. It was previously reported that the Armenian midfielder will earn an annual salary of €6 million, excluding bonuses.

Spertsyan is a product of Krasnodar's academy. He made 185 appearances for the club's senior team, scoring 58 goals and providing 44 assists. Transfermarkt values him at €25 million.

Al Ahli are the reigning AFC Champions League winners and nine-time champions of Saudi Arabia.
