Armenian freestyle wrestlers win 3 medals at European ChampionshipsJune 23, 2011 - 12:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Three Armenian representatives won medals on the first day of the European Freestyle Wrestling Junior Championship youth going on in Zrenjanin, Serbia. Vahe Tamrazyan (84kg) won a silver medal, yielding to Georgia’s Dato Marsagishvili in the final. Matevos Saroyan (55kg) won bronze, defeating rivals from Ukraine, Romania and Turkey. Another bronze medal went to Grigor Grigoryan (66kg). Narek Sirunyan (60kg) also had a chance to win a bronze medal, however he was beaten by Rafal Statkiewicz (Poland). The Armenian national team raised to the fifth place with 36 points in the team event. Greco-Roman wrestling championship will start on June 24.
