Azat Hovhannisyan: Darchinyan contributed to my pre-match confidence

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian boxer Azat Hovhannisyan shared impressions of September 3 Yerevan-hosted boxing event in a conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

“I trained hard for the fight; Gabriel Tolmajyan and Vic Darchinyan I trained with greatly contributed to my pre-match confidence,” Hovhannisyan said.

In his second September 3 clash against Estonia’s Sergey Pasimov, the Armenian boxer won by a technical KO.

In the first clash, however, Hovhannisyan lost 40-36, 40-36, 38-37 to U.S. boxer Juan Reyes. “Reyes was a strong rival, much harder to defeat than Pasimov. I have to thank my fans in Yerevan for support. You always feel more responsible when fighting in your home country,” the boxer confessed.

In 2 weeks, Hovhannisyan will return to U.S., where he’s currently training to prepare for his next clash due in 2 months.
