Armenian U-16 team wins Chess Olympiad 1st round

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian team scored a victory over the UAE in the 1st round of the World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad 2011 going on in Izmit, Turkey.

Karen Grigoryan, Hovhannes Gabuzyan and Tigran Harutyunyan won their games. Zohrak Apresyan played in a draw.

Armenians are currently 4th with 3.5 points. Teams from Switzerland, Georgia and Slovakia lead the tournament with 4 points.
