Armenian chess teams participating in European Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - European Team Chess Championship kicks off in Porto Carras Grand Resort on November 2.

Armenian men’s team, which includes world champions Levon Aronian, Sergei Movsesian, Vladimir Akopian, Gabriel Sargissian and Robert Hovhannisyan, ranks fourth with 2716 points. Russia tops the rankings with 2758 points.

Armenian women’s team is also fourth with 2419 points. The line-up consists of Elina Danielian, Lilit Mkrtchyan, Lilit Galoyan, Maria Kursova and Nelly Aginian. The head coach is Artur Chibukhchyan.

The Championship will be held in 9 rounds. 38 and 28 teams play in men’s and women’s tournaments respectively.
