Armenian teams train for World Weightlifting ChampionshipsNovember 2, 2011 - 12:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian women’s and men’s teams continue training for the World Weightlifting Championships which kicks off in Paris on November 5. The Armenian delegation will be led by the President of the Weightlifting Federation, Samvel Khachatryan. According to Armenian National Olympic Committee official website, Armenian weightlifting teams have a goal to represent Armenia at 2012 Olympic Games with 8-9 sportsmen. In 2008, five male and one female weightlifters represented Armenia in Beijing, securing three bronze medals. Isabella Yaylyan (53 kg), Meline Daluzyan (69 kg), Hripsime Khurshudyan, Naira Harutyunyan (75 kg), Vanik Avetisyan, Samvel Grigoryan (both 69 kg), Arakel Mirzoyan, Tigran Martirosyan (77 kg), heavyweights Hayk Hakobyan and Ruben Alexanyan will participate in the Championship.
