GeoProMining Gold company implements construction works at Sotq without permissionMarch 24, 2011 - 17:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the Green Union of Armenia Hakob Sanasaryan said that GeoProMining Gold company, which has launched construction to place a crusher for gold-bearing ores at the administrative territory of Sotq settlement (Gegharkunik region of Armenia), does not have permission for it. “Director and Chief Engineer of the company said that the construction was launched on February 15 to be completed in July. However, the construction design will be ready on March 25,” Sanasaryan told a press conference in Yerevan. Thus, according to him, the construction works proceed without a design. Sanasaryan said that 12mln tons of ore will be mined in Sotq, while waste will reach 250mln tons. “It means that waste per one ton of mined ore will make 25-30 tons. These are empty rocks, as they contain arsenium, kalium, sulfur, nickel and other heavy metals, but not silver or other precious metals,” concluded Sanasaryan.
