I think Armenian people need these awards more than the laureates themselves,” President Serzh Sargsyan said during the ceremony. The award recipients are: Raymond Kevorkian, Israel Charny (for contribution to the process of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide), Martin Grigoryan, Artsrun Sargsyan (for development of natural sciences). Harutyun Terzyan (for development of engineering sciences and IT), Harutyun Khachatryan, Mikael Stamboltsyan, Ruben Khachatryan, Vrezh Petrosyan, Karen Tsaturyan (for development of art).
