Lyons Armenians gather at Genocide victims memorial for torchlight processionApril 24, 2011 - 19:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - About 100 Armenians gathered in Lyons, France for a torchlight procession in commemoration of Armenian Genocide victims. The action was initiated by ARF Dashnaktsutyun and Nor Serund youth organization. The demonstrators laid flowers at the memorial to Genocide victims, urging Turkey to abandon the denial policy and acknowledge the fact of the Genocide, Nouvelles d’ Armenie reported. “The only fault of those massacred in 1915 was that they were Armenians,” a Nor Serund youth organization member said. The cities of Paris and Marseilles are also hosting commemorative events to be followed by a liturgy for innocent victims of the tragedy. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
