Hovhannes Goharyan: We go to Switzerland only for victory

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hovhannes Goharyan, Forward of Belarusian BATE and Armenian youth team, is optimistic about the first two qualification matches for Europe-2011 championship. The Armenian team will compete with Swedish and Turkish commands. The former match is scheduled for June 5 in Ville.

"All of us pursue one goal: to hold victory. Besides, we realize we are capable of competing for European Cup 2011 final match. We go to Switzerland only for victory. I have greater expectations from upcoming games. I do really want the result to enable us to compete in other matches. But that doesn't mean we should not respect rival teams," Goharyan finds.

Let's note that Goharyan's participation in upcoming matches was questionable since he didn't have much practice as player. But the forward says Bate trainer trusts him and has great expectations from him.

I am happy to be a member of Belarusian Bate. It's a very strong team, pursuing serious tasks. Although, I'm not yet a permanent team member, I enjoy their trust. The trainer often tells me he has great expectations. I recently asked him to allow me to play for the second Bate team, but he rejected my request, considering me a permanent team member. I certainly need more practice, but I am still waiting for my chance," FFA official Web site quotes Goharyan as saying.

A drawn game with the Swiss team and victory over the Turkish youth team in Yerevan will also be a positive result, Goharyan noted.
