Karen Ayvazyan won Champion title of European Youth Boxing ChampionshipAugust 22, 2009 - 17:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian boxer Karen Ayvazyan (w/c 51 kg) won the Champion title of the European Youth Championship, held in the Polish city of Szczecin. Ayvazyan defeated representatives of Italy, Moldova and Bulgaria, and in the finals with a score 7:1 won a victory over the Russian boxer Grigory Nikolaychuk. Armenian boxer in all four games have lost only two points (in the battle with the Italian and in the finale), scoring 23 points. Armenia in the Youth championship of Europe was represented by eight boxers. Only Ayvazyan was able to bring a medal to his team. The three other boxers left the championship at the early stage, while the remaining four boxers bade farewell to the tournament in the quarterfinal.
