In New York, Armenian and Lebanese foreign minister Vardan Oskanian and Mahmoud Hammoud discussed the situation in the Middle East and recent development of Palestinian-Israeli issue.

At the meeting, Markarian stated concerns regarding the hard social state of Armenians in Samtskhe-Javakhetia region of Georgia and expressed readiness of Armenia to assist in development and implementation of program of social economic development of the region.
