The political week in Armenia started with the 6th congress of Heritage party, which brought together over 400 delegates, including Arthur Ghazaryan from the ARF Dashnaktsutyun and representative of Sardarapat movement Zhirayr Sefilyan. Chairman of the party’s board Armen Martirosyan delivered a report, saying that Heritage has always supported strengthening of democracy, as well as protection of human rights and state interests.

The spring visit of Polish Prime Minister Donald Dusk to Armenia gave renewed impetus to development of bilateral relations. In compliance with the agreement concluded on March 12, 2010, the first sitting of the Armenian-Polish intergovernmental committee resulted in signature of a protocol and memorandum on food safety. Besides, a business forum was held.

Football: FIFA published the national rankings, where Armenia is the 96th, going up 4 lines with 318 points. New world champions, Spain, top the rankings with 1883 points, followed by the Netherlands (1659 points) and Brazil (1536 points).

At the Alma-Ata meeting there may be discussed the issue of returning the territories claimed especially by the Armenian and not the Azerbaijani side.

It is already becoming a tradition in Azerbaijan to make inadequate statements before every meeting between the foreign ministers or the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, with the Baku wise men believing they would make Armenia, the OSCE Minsk Group and the world community “return the Azerbaijani native lands”. By the way, these statements are issued while opening just another monument to Heydar Aliyev in some village or, at best, in a regional center in Azerbaijan.

In the study of ancient civilizations Armenia often remained on the sidelines, as if she had not been involved in major historical turnovers. The researchers’ interest was almost always confined to the territory of ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt. But, naturally the “factor” of Armenia could not be excluded in the formation of ancient civilizations. There is much evidence to prove it. Nevertheless, for one reason or another Armenia, yet, was left out from the list of possible leaders.

Karabakh war. The story of a patriot
The 1988 events in Sumgait, Azerbaijan, shocked the entire Armenianhood. Dozens of people were slaughtered, majority of them after tortures and severe beatings. Over 200 apartments were robbed and burnt. Thousands of refugees remained homeless. This year changed the lives of many people. 27-year-old Manvel Yeghiazaryan was not an exception…
