Hearings Held in European Union on ENP and EU Role in South Caucasus

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hearings were held in the European Union on the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) and the EU role in the South Caucasus. EU former representative for the South Caucasus Heikki Talvitie, OSCE Minsk Group French co-chair Bernard Fassier, PACE Rapporteurs Andreas Gross and Andres Herkel took part in the discussions. According to International Crisis Group Caucasus Project Director Sabine Freizer, discussions lasted nearly 3 hours and Bernard Fassier informed those present on the talks between Armenian and Azeri presidents in Rambouillet. The French diplomat specifically noted that Ilham Aliyev and Robert Kocharian refused from compromises and the negotiations were rather hard. In Freizer's words, the issue of demolition of Armenian monuments in Old Julfa was not raised at the EU hearings, reported ANS Azeri TV channel.
