Mkhitaryan scores in Inter’s 10-0 victory over Pergolettese

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored a goal in Inter’s 10-0 victory over Pergolettese in their first game of pre-season on Friday, July 21 evening, with coach Simone Inzaghi handing debuts to a number of new summer signings, Football Italia reports.

The Nerazzurri hosted Pergolettese at their training ground for the pre-season curtain raiser, with a number of first-team regulars getting on the scoresheet, including four second half goals from Lautaro Martinez.

Inzaghi handed debuts from the start to Yann Bisseck in defence, who played alongside Stefan De Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni, as well as to Marcus Thuram, who partnered Joaquin Correa in attack for the first period.

Correa and Bastoni both headed home from corners early in the first period, before Hakan Calhanoglu fired a low, driven effort into the far corner from outside the area to add Inter’s third.

Denzel Dumfries then lept to meet Federico Dimarco’s cross from deep to give the Nerazzurri a four-goal advantage heading into the interval.

After the break and a series of wholesale changes, Martinez punched on a clumsy defensive error to poke home the Nerazzurri’s fifth from a yard out. Sebastiano Esposito made it six soon afterwards.

Martinez would get in on the act again with a hat trick of penalties to add Inter’s seventh, ninth and tenth goals of the evening. Mkhitaryan rounded off a fine team move to claim the eighth.

Inter will travel to Japan to play Al-Nassr in their next pre-season friendly on Thursday, July 27.
