Yerevan Mayor’s Office: AMD 618 million allocated to reconstruction of Yerevan schoolsSeptember 1, 2010 - 15:00 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - School No 201, which has been under the authority of Yerevan Mayor’s Office, is ready to begin a new academic year. Reconstruction works are being conducted in 24 schools in accordance with 2010 schedule. Roofs, gyms and conference halls were reconstructed, classrooms repaired. AMD 618 million was allocated to reconstruction of Yerevan schools. 102 kindergartens were included in reconstruction program, with repair completed in 32 of them. Upon completion of program, all kindergartens will be provided with local heating systems. AMD 1,2 billion were allocated from Yerevan’s communal budget to this end. Reconstruction works are being strictly monitored. By the order of Yerevan Mayor, 4445 children from unprovided families were presented with school appliances. 1474 socially vulnerable children will be granted with AMD 25 000 allowance as a governmental aid. On September 1, 2010, School No. 201 has welcomed 9700 first graders; 104 704 students will be educated at the school. Yerevan’s schools are equipped with 214 computer classes, complete with 2081 computers and 30 electronic boards. Schools are provided with internet connection, 16 of them linked to unified network of Armenian schools. 31 senior schools are operating within the framework of school reform program.
