EU regional development policy discussed in YerevanSeptember 29, 2010 - 15:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan hosts EU Regional Policy and Instruments workshop focusing on regional development policies and instruments in the current context of EU-Armenia relations. Guided by the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement as well as European Neighborhood Policy and Eastern Partnership, EU supports social development of Armenian communities by regional development programs with special emphasis on disadvantageous areas. The focus is laid on infrastructure, human capital and SME development modeled on EU cohesion policy. Participants constituting key decision makers and implementers of local administration (marzpetarans, mayor offices, municipalities) as well as NGOs and other representative bodies will avail from the workshop obtaining the latest information on EU and EI-Armenia relations and development opportunities. The workshop is the third in the series capturing the whole landscape of Armenia. The first and second workshops were held Vanadzor and Goris respectively.
