Failed bank robber tried to steal some USD 13,000 from Yerevan bankMarch 29, 2011 - 17:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 29, the police station of Nor Nork district of Yerevan received information on people wounded as a result of gun usage at Nor Nork branch of Converse Bank. An operational-investigative group found out that the Nor Nork Police custodial services department chief, captain Arthur Hakobyan was the failed robber of the bank, the RA Police reported. At around 12:00pm, Hakobyan made his way to the bank, wearing a mask and using Makarov pistol, and committed an armed assault on the bank employees, taking 37,800 rubles, AMD 1,724,000, 358 euros and USD 6,695. The crime was prevented due to professional qualifications of the policemen working in the bank. The policemen used his Makarov pistol, as a result of which Arthur Hakobyan has got gunshot wounds and has been taken to Grigor Lusavorich medical center. Makarov pistol was confiscated from Hakobyan. Details are clarified; a special investigative service carries out the investigation.
