PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Hrayr Matevosyan (w/c 60) was defeated by Germany's Thomas Vahrenholt in a quarter-final of the World Youth Boxing Championship taking place in Baku (Azerbaijan.)

Thus, Armenian boxers have not qualified for the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore due August 14-16.

Armenia was represented at the world championship also by Koryun Soghomonyan (w/c 48kg), Narek Abgaryan (w/c 51kg), Arthur Kirajyan (w/c 54kg), Karen Tonakanyan (w/c 57kg) and Hovhannes Bachkov (w/c 64kg.)
