Press Secretary of the Federation Pashik Alaverdyan is appointed acting coach of the Armenian weightlifting team, Khachatryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net "After the world championships in Antalia, where sportsmen will be able to qualify for 2012 Olympic Games, we will elect a new coach," said Khachatryan. According to him, the world championships will bring together 1,350 weightlifters from 187 countries. Khachatryan added that at least eight Armenian weightlifters (4-5 male and 4 female sportsmen) should qualify for the Olympic Games. Unfortunately, 2009 world champion Nazik Avdalyan (weight class 69kg) will not be able to participate in the world championships, as she has got an injury.
