Melikset Khachiyan, Aram Khachatrian are third at international chess tournaments

PanARMENIAN.Net - GM Melikset Khachiyan scored 6 points out of 8 possible and shared the 1st-3rd places with GM Joshua Friedel and IM Enrico Sevillano in the 46th American Open held in Los Angeles, USA. Khachiyan was the third in the tie-break, while Friedel won the chess tournament.

Other Armenian chess players also participated in the tournament. IM Andranik Matikozian was the 7th among 41 participants. Tatev Abrahamyan and Lernik Manukian scored 4 points each, armchess.am reported.

Armenia’s Aram Khachatrian successfully participated in an international chess tournament held in Riga, Latvia. He was the third, scoring 5 points out of 7 possible. Khachatryan was only half a point behind the winner, FM Vladimir Sveshnikov, and IM Roland Berzinsh, who was the second.
