Armenian chess players get off to successful start at 13th Dubai Open Chess Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian chess players got off to a successful start at the 13th Dubai Open Chess Championship.

Grandmasters Vladimir Hakobyan, Zaven Andriasian, Tigran Petrosyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Artashes Minasyan, Tigran Kotanjyan, David Petrosyan and FIDE Master Karen Grigoryan scored victories, with only Ashot Anastasyan ending his game in a draw.

The tournament prize fund is USD 45 000, with a winner and runner-ups to be awarded USD 8, 5 and 4 thous. respectively.

The tournament hosts 146 chess players from India, Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, France, Germany, England, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine.
