Solana Hopes for Progress in Karabakh Issue in 2006December 13, 2005 - 18:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - EU Honorary Commissioner for Foreign Policy and Security Javier Solana spoke for soonest possible completion of technical consultations with Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia over the working out of bilateral Action Plans within the European Neighborhood Policy. Today Mr. Solana met with FMs of those countries in Brussels. As Solana told journalists himself, during the talks prospects of settlement of the so-called "frozen" conflicts were discussed at the talks. Thereupon he hoped for considerable progress to be made in the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in 2006. He also stated the positive course of settlement of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict.![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
