"Revival of Shoushi" Fund Declared Start of Reconstruction of TownOctober 5, 2006 - 18:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On October 4, the presentation of the "Revival of Shoushi" Fund and sitting of the organization's Board of Trustees took place in the town of Shoushi. Members of the Fund's Board of Trustees headed by its Chairman, Mayor of the city of Yerevan Yervand Zakharian as well as NKR Prime-Minister Anoushavan Daniyelian, members of the republic's Cabinet of Ministers and representatives of the leadership of the town of Shoushi took part in them. "Today the "Revival of Shoushi" Fund declares the start of the process of unification of the national material and spiritual potential for the reconstruction of the former glory of the town, its cultural and educational traditions. The events conducted presently will become a start point for a difficult way which will undoubtedly demand great efforts. 14 years have passed since the liberation of the glorious Armenian town but Shoushi is still in ruins and with trepidation waits for our attention and assistance. Our Fund pursues the following aims: to remind of the glorious past of Shoushi, awake in people love for the town, the role and significance of which are inestimable in the Armenian history, unite the national potential for the reconstruction of the town", was claimed in the course of the Fund presentation, reported the NKR MFA press service. NKR Prime Minister Anoushavan Daniyelian noted that the "Revival of Shoushi" Fund had already won definite confidence of the republic's leadership and expressed hope that by its further activity would strengthen it. The head of the NKR Cabinet of Ministers spoke for the necessity of cooperation of all the organizations rendering assistance to the town of Shoushi. The "Revival of Shoushi" Fund created in spring of 2006 on the initiative of the Mayor of Yerevan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fund Yervand Zakharian is a non-governmental humanitarian organization.
