Earth Day Campaign 2014 kicks off in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Earth Day Campaign 2014 kicked off last week in Yerevan Zoo with a tree-planting event, where VivaCell-MTS employees participated as volunteers, and a contest dedicated to the International Day of Birds.

April 22 is worldwide celebrated as Earth Day. Like many organizations all over the world, the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) jointly with its General Partner VivaCell-MTS also will mark this important day with a broad range of environmental activities in Yerevan and the provinces.

A bird nest making competition was organized, with the jury headed by U.S. ambassador John Heffern selecting the winners.

The most active and creative participants were awarded prizes by Yerevan Zoo, FPWC and LEGO representative of Armenia. They also received a special prize from VivaCell-MTS.

The participants were competing in 3 categories: Best Innovative Approach; Best Idea; Best Creative Solution.
