Armenian nuclear plant closes for repair Sept 20

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) in Metsamor, Armavir province will undergo regular preventive maintenance, ANPP general manager Movses Vardanyan said.

The repair works will start on September 20 and last 61 days, the plant will resume activity on November 20.

Once all the necessary preventive measures are taken, the ANPP will apply to the State Nuclear Safety Regulatory Committee to obtain permission for operation until 2026.

Rosatom Service Director General Evgeny Salkov said earlier that the Armenian NPP is exceptional, and that experts have no fears concerning the safe operation of the plant.
