Archimandrite Komitas Hovnanian advocates Turkish government?

PanARMENIAN.Net - Archimandrite of Ararat Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Komitas Hovnanian, doesn’t believe that Turkey sought any benefit from organization of the religious ceremony in Holy Cross church in Akhtamar island.

“Turkey just demonstrated its generosity towards national minorities of the country, although uses ancient historical monuments to develop tourism,” Archimandrite Hovnanian told a press conference in Yerevan.

He slammed the Armenians who boycotted the religious ceremony in Holy Cross church, saying that “an Armenian liturgy can never be a show.”

“We must take the opportunity and do our best to hold services every day but not once a year,” Archimandrite Hovnanian said.

Besides, he accused Armenia of being indifferent about churches in the territory of the republic, while speaking of poor condition of Armenian churches in Georgia and Turkey.
