Armenian President on bus test drive March 24, 2012 - 12:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Minister of Transport and Communication Manuk Vardanyan, Yerevan’s mayor Taron Margaryan and representatives of Chinese Embassy in Armenia set on a test drive in Yerevan's Republic Square on March 24 in one of 249 Higer-Bus buses imported to Yerevan from China. 249 Higer-Bus buses were imported to Yerevan within the framework of intergovernmental cooperation between Armenia and China. The buses will be gradually involved in Yerevan’s public transport routes to serve the capital’s citizens. By the end of this year, 25 of these buses will be equipped to allow for transportation of wheel-chaired passengers as well. Head of transport department of Yerevan municipality Henrik Navasardyan informed that the 22-seat buses housing a total of 45 passengers will serve six routes within the capital.
