Armenia bans almost all types of gambling advertising

PanARMENIAN.Net - Lawmakers in Armenia have introduced significant changes to the country’s gambling advertising laws.

Members of the National Assembly on Friday, March 4 approved in second and final reading a draft law banning all kinds of betting ads, with 63 in favor and 24 abstentions.

Introduced by the government, the bill bans all kinds of gambling advertisements on radio, television and internet. Such advertising will only be allowed only in hotels with 4 stars or higher, border checkpoints and in front of similar buildings.

Officials feel the move could help prevent prevent problems such as addictive gambling.
