Norik Sargsyan: number of car accidents tends to decreaseJuly 13, 2010 - 14:06 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - 851 car accidents were registered in Armenia during the first six months of 2010, killing 117 people and injuring 1152, traffic police chief said. “The number of accidents and casualties decreased by 15 and 33 respectively, as compared to the same period in 2009,” Norik Sargsyan told reporters on July 13. “The number of car accidents tends to decrease,” he said. As for violations of traffic rules, traffic police recorded 352 958 violations during the reporting period, which is 47 000 more than last year. Sargsyan said that traffic police will control the roads leading from Yerevan towards resorts in July-August. He also informed that roads markings and installment of cameras in Yerevan will be finished till the end of the year.
