ARF Dashnaktsutyun suggests All-Armenian media database creationOctober 11, 2010 - 17:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - At October 10 World Media Forum in Yerevan, ARFD developed suggestions to be submitted at Armenian Diaspora Ministry –organized All Armenian Media Forum due October 13 in Stepanakert, the member of ARF Dashnaktsutyun supreme body Spartak Seyranyan stated. As Seyranyan told a news conference in Yerevan, the suggestions in question stipulate for unification of Armenian media potential, implementation of modern technologies and creation of media database to promote effective cooperation. The editor in chief of Asbarez Daily Newspaper, Abo Poghikian and Aztag editor Shahan Kandaharian agreed on the idea of creating an information system, unifying the potential of Armenian, NKR and Diaspora media to increase effectiveness of the struggle against Azeri propaganda. Dwelling on withdrawal of Azeri resolution on Karabakh from UN General Assembly agenda, Kandaharian noted, “the embassies of Armenia and Diaspora organisations must wage a unified struggle against the resolution, the latter being directly linked with Armenia and NKR security.” Asbarez editor in chief commented on Armenian-language education in Diaspora, reporting a 10% decrease in the number of Armenian students in U.S. gymnasiums. “As compared to the U.S., the situation in Middle East Armenian communities is more favorable,” Kandaharian pointed out.
